I would like to begin today’s blog to recognize Columbus day to give honor and recognition to Chrisopher Columbus who discovered America. In Vermont it is indigenous peoples day to honor our native Americans.
On occasion I write my blogs to give recognition to businesses or groups that I depend on for goods and services. Recently, I took my GMC truck in for service at Handy GMC/Cadillac at 405 Swanton Road in St. Albans, Vermont. The service advisors always look out for my best interests when it comes to the care of my vehicle. Typically if the GMC truck needs service such as an oil change or state inspection, they will always schedule me to accommodate my needs. Conversely, I’ve had to depend on the Handy GMC/Cadillac for emergency service such as a flat tire or worse. These guys are polite, professional, and always looking for ways to improve their service. This is my second GMC product I have purchased from Handy’s and without a doubt I’ll be visiting their top notch sales department.
On the flip side of excellent service departments there are a small number of dealer service departments that don’t meet standards. I have heard of several. However I have not had the misfortune of having to deal with less than ideal departments. I think for the most part, most do a satisfactory job of repairing vehicles and provide adequate customer service. When I go car shopping, I’ll take some time and visit the service department. After your purchase of your new vehicle, most of your contact will be with the service department.
