Happy 4th of July to all my readers out there. We are celebrating 250 years of American independence. I hope all of you went out for picnics, parades, fireworks and generally celebrate this American tradition.
Back at Forgione Lumber we were closed from last Tuesday until yesterday. We experienced an early heat wave that drove up the temperature into the 90’s with the heat index going to 100 degrees. In the name of safety, we closed down operations for the week. On Monday we will resume normal operations.
So far we are behind with several orders and I’ll be bringing on some helpers to catch up with the backlog. Not only are we keeping our business going, we have to keep up with our weekly yard maintenance. And to further complicate things, I’m the chief cook and dish washer around here.
Next month is the New York State Woodsmen Field days in Boonville, New York. For the past 4 years I’ve attempted to attend this yearly event but I was always unable to attend for numerous reasons. This year I will make an effort to attend. I plan on seeing several of my equipment vendors and the creators of their own YouTube channels.
