Forgione Lumber Company blog for the week of May 4, 2026

The Northeastern Loggers Association Loggers expo at the Champlain Valley Exposition in Essex Junction, Vermont concluded on Saturday May 2nd, 2026. I attended the first day on Friday May 1st, 2026. I had been looking forward to this event for many months. When I walked in I was greeted with my personalized name tag. Walking through the exhibit hall was overwhelming with all the exhibitors. I met so many friendly representatives of the companies that brought tools and equipment for display. They answered questions and handed out freebies such as pens, candy, and lots of literature. Most of the larger exhibitors were located outdoors adjacent to the exhibit hall. There were live demonstrations of woodsplitters, sawmills, excavators, skid steers, wood processors, etc.

My one regret is that I never stopped to visit the vendors I really wanted to look at and inquire about wood splitters, wood processors, and sawmills. This is the area where Forgione Lumber company is planning its upgrade and expansion. Well there is always next year. Next year the loggers expo takes place in Bangor, Maine. The Northeastern Loggers Association alternates yearly between Essex Junction, Vermont and Bangor,Maine. We look forward to attending the 2017 expo in Bangor,Maine.

Now that the expo is done for another year, It’s time for us to get back to working on getting the 2026 production line opened up. We are probably about two weeks away from starting up again. First we need to clean and organize the facility, move equipment in place, and inspect and service all the equipment needed for producing firewood.
