Forgione Lumber Company blog for the week of December 9, 2025

To all my website followers, please look for the recent changes to forgionelumberco.com The testimonials page where people are supposed to write nice things about Forgione Lumber Company will be replaced with Share your thoughts. Let us know how we are doing, ask questions, begin a discussion group, look for advice, and anything else you would like to share. We’re listening.

The next change will be firewood and wood stove safety. My belief that anyone that does active burning of firewood in a woodstove, fireplace, and other wood burning appliances should be aware of and follow safety guidelines.

A little bit about the owner. I’m not a Vermonter. I’m a flatlander from Western New York. I moved to Vermont 42 years ago to take a full time position with the local Air Guard unit in Burlington. After 33 years in the military, It was time for me to retire. After retirement, I taught grades 9-12 at our local high school. I possess a Bachelor’s degree from Johnson State College and a Master’s degree from Southern New Hampshire University. Now that I’m fully retired I started Forgione Lumber Company. Every day I learn more about forestry, firewood, sawmills, and business practices.
